Media Council of Malawi (MCM), regrets to inform its stakeholders that the Inaugural Annual Media Symposium, which was scheduled to take place from 29th to 30th November 2023 at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe, has been postponed to the year 2024. Dates will be communicated in due course.
The postponement is due to the unforeseen economic developments in the country that have led to unexpected upward cost adjustments and consequently affecting our entire budget. MCM values the commitment of stakeholders who have shown interest to participate and support the symposium, and would like to encourage them to do the same when the new dates are arranged.
The Council is assuring partners and stakeholders who have committed their support to the Symposium that we will continue collaborating and planning ahead with them. MCM apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this postponement, and assures all stakeholders that it will communicate the new dates and arrangements for the symposium as soon as possible.
The Council also appreciates the continued support and cooperation of all the stakeholders and partners in the media sector, and hopes to deliver a successful and productive inaugural symposium in the year 2024.
