MCM TO HOLD AN ELECTIVE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The Media Council of Malawi (MCM) hereby announces that the Elective General Assembly will be held on Friday, 12th January 2024 in Lilongwe at a venue to be announced in due course.
The Elective General Assembly is the supreme decision-making body, and it is composed of all registered and paid-up members of MCM. Media stakeholders are reminded that membership to the Council is by institution, whereas individual media practitioners get accreditation.
The main agenda of the Elective General Assembly is to elect a new Board of Trustees, as well as to review and adopt the MCM Strategic Plan, the MCM Annual Report and the MCM Financial Report.
MCM invites all eligible members to attend and participate in the Elective General Assembly, and to exercise their democratic rights and responsibilities. We request all interested candidates for the position of Board Chairperson to submit their nominations and manifestos to the MCM Secretariat by Friday, 15th December 2023.
The Council will provide more details and information on the Elective General Assembly, such as the nomination and election procedures, the list of candidates, the voting and counting process, in due course. Meanwhile, the MCM Constitution is available on our website.
